Subscription & Refund Policy
Hypermilers is free to use. An optional subscription, Hypermilers Pro, raises your vehicle limit and unlocks the cost statistics reports. This policy explains how Pro is sold, billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Free and Pro
| Capability | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicles | 1 | Up to 3 |
| Service schedule, reminders and history | Included | Included |
| Fuel, expense and odometer logs | Included | Included |
| Cost statistics reports | Locked | Included |
| Data import from another app | Included | Included |
| Google sign-in, eight languages, RTL Arabic | Included | Included |
Capabilities may be refined over time. We do not remove a paid capability during a period you have already paid for without providing a reasonable substitute or a proportionate refund.
2. Where subscriptions are sold
Pro is sold as a Google Play in-app subscription. Google Play processes the payment, issues the receipt, and manages renewal and cancellation. We never receive your card details. When the app starts, and whenever the subscription state changes, we verify the purchase with Google Play before granting Pro.
3. Price, currency and taxes
The price, billing period and applicable taxes are those displayed by Google Play in your country and currency at the moment of purchase. Prices may differ between countries. Google Play adds any applicable tax and shows the final amount before you confirm.
4. Free trials and introductory offers
- If a free trial or introductory price is offered, Google Play states its length and the price that applies afterwards before you subscribe.
- A trial converts into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
- A free trial is normally available once per Google Account, as enforced by Google Play.
5. Billing and automatic renewal
- Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first.
- Google Play charges your payment method within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- The app shows your current status and, where the store provides it, the next renewal date in the plan card on the Profile and Settings screens.
- If you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
6. How to cancel
- Open the Google Play Store app on the device signed in with the account that purchased Pro.
- Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Hypermilers and tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the confirmation steps. Google Play emails a confirmation of the cancellation.
You can also manage the subscription at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Cancelling inside the Hypermilers app is not required and is not possible: only Google Play can stop the billing relationship.
Deleting your Hypermilers account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel in Google Play first, then delete the account if you wish, following the Account Deletion Policy.
7. Refunds
Because Google Play processes the payment, refunds are issued by Google Play under the Google Play refund policy. You can request a refund from Google Play directly:
- Open your Google Play subscriptions.
- Find the Hypermilers order, or open Order history for a past charge.
- Choose Report a problem and select the refund reason that applies.
In practice this means:
- Within 48 hours of a charge, Google Play usually approves a refund automatically when the request meets its policy.
- After that window, Google Play may decline and refer the request to us. If that happens, email [email protected] with the Google Play order number (GPA.xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx) and we will review it in good faith.
- Unused paid time — if the Service is unavailable for a sustained period through our fault, or we remove a paid capability, we will refund the proportionate part of the period affected.
- Accidental purchases — contact us promptly. Where the paid features have not been used, we will normally support a refund request to Google Play.
- Used periods — charges for a period during which Pro was active and usable are generally not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
Nothing in this section limits mandatory consumer rights, including your rights under Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018. If a mandatory right gives you a stronger refund right than this policy, that right applies.
8. Failed payments and lapse
- If a renewal payment fails, Google Play may place the subscription in a grace period or on hold. We follow the state Google Play reports.
- When Pro lapses, your account keeps the vehicles you already have readable during a 30-day retention window. You can still read your history and statistics for those vehicles during that window.
- After the retention window, free plan limits apply. Vehicles above the free limit become read-only rather than deleted; nothing is removed from your history.
- Adding a vehicle again, or resubscribing, restores Pro capabilities immediately.
9. Plan and price changes
We may change the price of Pro or the content of a plan. A price increase never applies to a period you have already paid for. Where Google Play requires it, a price change needs your consent before it takes effect, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
10. Reinstalling and restoring a purchase
Pro is tied to your Hypermilers account and verified against Google Play, not to the device. After reinstalling the app, sign in with the same Hypermilers account and use the same Google Play account that bought Pro. The app re-checks the subscription with Google Play and restores access automatically; no restore button or additional charge is needed.
11. Trials and vouchers granted by support
Occasionally we grant a time-limited Pro trial or redeem a promotional voucher for an account, for example to resolve a support issue. These grants:
- are free, and never create a Google Play subscription or a charge;
- expire automatically at the end date shown in the app;
- cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another account, or extended automatically; and
- do not affect your statutory rights.
12. Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact Google Play or us before starting a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback reverses the payment but does not cancel the subscription; Google Play may also suspend the Google Account's payment profile while it investigates. We may suspend Pro access while a chargeback is pending and restore it once the dispute is resolved in your favour.
